Dentin Offline is a dental practice management and administrative software designed to assist dental clinics in India with scheduling, patient record-keeping, billing, inventory management, and related administrative functions. It is a tool to organise and manage practice operations — it is not a clinical system, clinical decision-support tool, or electronic health record system designed to guide or influence clinical outcomes.

The software runs exclusively on hardware located within the licensed dental clinic. All data entered into the software remains on that hardware and is not transmitted to or processed by Dentin Offline's servers.

2. Not a Medical Device

Dentin Offline is not a medical device as defined under the Medical Devices Rules 2017 (notified under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940). It does not perform any diagnostic, therapeutic, monitoring, or life-support function. It does not analyse clinical data to generate clinical recommendations.

Accordingly, it has not been certified, registered, or approved as a medical device by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) or any other regulatory body, and no such certification is required for its intended use as a practice management tool.

3. No Clinical Advice

Nothing in Dentin Offline — including any templates, forms, charting tools, treatment plan builders, or pre-populated fields — constitutes or should be interpreted as clinical advice, dental advice, or medical advice of any kind.

All clinical decisions — including diagnosis, treatment planning, prescription, and patient care — are the sole responsibility of the licensed dental professional using the software. Dentin Offline provides administrative scaffolding only. The judgment of the treating dentist is not replaced, supplemented, or informed by the software's operation.

Dentin Offline does not verify the clinical accuracy of information entered by users. The correctness of clinical records rests entirely with the clinician who creates and maintains them.

4. Data Accuracy and User Responsibility

Dentin Offline does not verify, validate, or audit data entered into the system by clinic staff. The accuracy, completeness, currency, and integrity of all patient records, clinical notes, billing entries, and other data are the sole responsibility of the clinic and its staff.

We are not liable for any errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or inconsistencies in data entered by users, or for any consequences — clinical, financial, legal, or otherwise — arising from such errors.

5. Regulatory Compliance

Use of Dentin Offline does not guarantee compliance with any specific statutory, regulatory, or professional obligation of the dental practice, including but not limited to:

• Record-keeping requirements under the Dentists Act 1948 and any rules made thereunder;
• Requirements of the Dental Council of India or any State Dental Council;
• Obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 in respect of patient data held by the clinic;
• GST compliance obligations for the clinic's billing and financial records;
• Any other applicable statute, regulation, or professional standard.

The clinic owner and treating dentist are solely responsible for understanding and complying with all legal, professional, and regulatory obligations applicable to their practice. We recommend obtaining independent legal and professional advice to verify that your use of the software meets your specific compliance requirements.

6. Data Loss and Hardware Failures

Dentin Offline stores all clinic data locally on the clinic's own hardware. We have no control over and no liability for data loss, corruption, or inaccessibility arising from:

• Hardware failure, malfunction, theft, or physical damage;
• Power outages or electrical surges affecting clinic hardware;
• Accidental deletion or modification of data by clinic staff;
• Operating system failures, malware, or other software issues on the clinic's hardware;
• Failure by the clinic to maintain adequate backups of clinic data.

We strongly recommend that clinics maintain regular automated backups of all clinic data to an external drive or network-attached storage (NAS) device, physically separate from the primary clinic computer. Backup setup and verification are the sole responsibility of the clinic.
